Massage Treatment Info
A few helpful answers before your first appointment
I’ve never had a massage before. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Many of my clients are trying massage for the first time. I’ll explain everything before we begin, answer any questions you have and make sure you feel completely comfortable throughout your treatment.
Which massage is right for me?
If you’re unsure, don’t worry. We’ll have a chat before your appointment and I’ll recommend the treatment that best suits how you’re feeling and what you’d like to achieve. We can even combine the two! There’s no pressure to know beforehand.
Will I need to remove any clothing?
Not necessarily – this is entirely your choice. Both treatments can be carried out fully clothed if you prefer. A nourishing massage oil can be used during either treatment to enhance the experience, helping the hands glide comfortably over the skin while leaving it feeling soft and hydrated. For Indian Head Massage, oil may also be applied to the scalp and hair if you wish. I’ll explain all the options beforehand so you can decide what feels right for you.
How will I feel after my massage?
Every person is different, but most clients tell me they leave feeling lighter, calmer and more balanced. Whether you’ve come to ease muscular tension or simply take time out from a busy life, my hope is that you leave feeling relaxed, restored and ready for whatever comes next.
How long does a session last?
Session length depends on the treatment you choose and your individual needs, but generally between 45-60 minutes. We’ll allow enough time before your treatment to talk through how you’re feeling, what you’d like from the session and any relevant health information, so your massage can be tailored to you.
Can I combine massage with laser therapy?
Yes. Massage and laser therapy can complement one another for some people as part of a wider approach to recovery and wellbeing. If I feel a combination could be helpful for you, I’ll discuss the options with you and make sure the treatments are appropriate for your individual needs.
What if I just need time to switch off?
Absolutely! Massage doesn’t have to be about treating an injury. Sometimes it’s simply about taking time to breathe, unwind and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re carrying physical tension, mental stress or simply feeling exhausted, you’re very welcome here.
